Job Description:

PART 1: ROLE PURPOSE

Street Child is seeking an education specialist to support Street Child and its partners to adopt, adapt, and implement evidence-informed education interventions for an exciting multi-partner programme in Pakistan. This role will work in close collaboration with consortium partners to select strong, strategic evidence-informed interventions and carry out capacity strengthening and surge support to advance the aims, outputs, and outcomes of the Pakistan Multi-Year Resilience Programme. The role will also offer significant support for the steering, scaling, and sustaining of proven approaches in Education in Emergencies [EiE] in Pakistan.

In addition, the Education Specialist will contribute to the development of Education projects and programmes for Street Child in Pakistan, especially in line with their expertise.

PART 2: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Education Capacity Strengthening and Surge Support [50%]

  • Conduct capacity strengthening activities for consortium partners on proven, prioritized Education in Emergencies [EiE] approaches;
  • Conduct surge support for consortium partners to operationalize Education in Emergencies [EiE] approaches;
  • Collaborate with consortium partners to
  • Define learning intentions;
  • Design and deliver learning assessment tools and trackers aligned to national and international standards;
  • Design and deliver training, coaching, and communities of practice for partners to improve teaching and learning outcomes;
  • Design and develop in-school and out-of-school strategies to optimise outcomes for children and communities;
  • Connect consortium partners to critical stakeholders to advocate for increased interest and investment and amplify impact; and
  • Provide research, advice, and analytical support for Education in Emergencies [EiE] activities as appropriate.

Programme Development and Delivery [20%]

  • Conduct capacity strengthening and surge support for consortium partners at all stages of the programme cycle, including program design and development; planning and implementation, monitoring and reporting;
  • Create communications collateral to promote programme impact, including audio-visual collateral, case studies, etc;
  • Create comprehensive resources to support scaling and sustaining of proven approaches through case studies, semi-structured interviews, surveys;
  • Research, ascertain, and assess resource mobilization opportunities for education and Education in Emergencies [EiE];
  • Represent Street Child at the Education Sector Working Group [ESWG] and other national and regional education fora, as well as with the Ministry of Education [MOE] and other relevant stakeholders; and
  • Represent Street Child with education partners and explore potential programmatic partnerships;

Programme Evaluation [20%]

  • Create frameworks, templates and tools to assess teacher training, teaching, and learning;
  • Conduct capacity strengthening activities for consortium partners to measure and monitor the impact of Education in Emergencies [EiE];
  • Collaborate with consortium partners to conduct rigorous, robust impact assessments, analysis, and adaptations;
  • Collaborate with consortium partners to engage with evidence and to integrate evidence-informed interventions and innovations; and
  • Strengthen evidence sharing and situate impact against policy and programmatic landscape to engage funder, partner, and government representatives.

Contribution to Organizational Priorities [10%]

  • Research and assess education resource mobilization opportunities.
  • Directly contribute to the development of projects for Street Child in Pakistan, contributing to education proposals in coordination with regional and global team.
  • Provide surge support to Street Childs global and regional programmes as agreed by Asia Regional Representative.
