Job Description:

We are seeking a Level-03 Network Engineer to look after our client's own complete Network package, involving design, implementation, commissioning, and preparing network-related artifacts for Technical proposals. A Senior Lead who will play an important part in the project team to provide a network solution, leading to successful implementation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Router Configuration & Deployment
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco ASR 1000/9000 series routers for enterprise networks.
  • Routing Protocols Implementation
  • Implement and optimize dynamic routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and ISIS for efficient data flow across multiple network segments.
  • Interface & Topology Management
  • Configure Ethernet, Gigabit, and 10-Gigabit interfaces, manage VLAN trunking, IP addressing, and routing within complex network topologies.
  • Network Architecture & Redundancy Design
  • Design and implement network redundancy solutions to eliminate single points of failure and ensure high availability.
  • Design Documentation
  • Prepare comprehensive High-Level and Low-Level Designs, test plans, and documentation for deployment and validation activities.
  • Capacity Planning
  • Conduct network infrastructure capacity assessments and develop planning strategies for current and future scalability.
  • Vendor Proposal & Selection
  • Develop detailed vendor selection proposals aligned with business requirements and project goals, particularly for Thales solutions.
  • Integration Management
  • Execute multivendor and multisystem integration projects within enterprise data centers under a unified network architecture.
  • Deployment & Validation
  • Lead network deployment and validation processes, including staging of Core, Distribution, and Access layer equipment.
  • Security Layer Implementation
  • Design and implement robust security layers within the network infrastructure to ensure compliance and protection.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution
  • Perform Level-2 and Level-3 troubleshooting, diagnose complex network issues, and deliver quick resolutions for data and security layers.
  • Maintenance & Vendor Coordination
  • Develop and execute network maintenance strategies; liaise with vendors to ensure stable and efficient infrastructure operations.
  • Lifecycle Management
  • Monitor infrastructure lifecycle, recommend upgrades, and mitigate end-of-life (EOL) risks with proactive planning.
  • Bid Support & Solution Development
  • Support bid activities involving network work packages, with a focus on security networks and integration with broader business initiatives.
  • Ticket & Incident Ownership
  • Own and manage vendor tickets and escalated support cases, ensuring end-to-end resolution and customer satisfaction.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in designing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining Cisco ASR 1000/9000 series routers for enterprise networks.
  • Network expert in the Switching & Routing domain of Data Network in lieu to tailor the Security Network Design/Implementation/Commissioning. Shall possess expertise knowledge of Layer 2 protocols, Spanning Tree protocols, and all Redundancy protocols.
  • Shall possess sound knowledge in RFCs related to Routing, Switching, Multicasting, VSS, VRF, VRF-Lite, Security, Firewalls, WAN routing, and VOIP.
  • Shall possess strong Data Network skill sets required to customize Routing & Switching concepts to be tailor-made for the Thales project, ranging from different security Networks to Data Center Networks.
  • The individual shall possess a strong background in leading Network & Security implementations of large data centers formerly.
  • Skilled to single-handedly build a Test bed to test out the Network Solutions as a prototype, derive Production environment configurations ranging from switching, routing, Multicast, Redundancies, VSS, Firewall configurations, VOIP configurations & Spanning tree configurations as a minimum.
  • Shall be an expert in deriving offline configurations for provisioning of the production environment, Data center, Network & Security, and Network Setup.
  • Take ownership of the Network Architectural documentation. Perform Periodic updates to resemble the updates in the design, implement the solution, and provide input to the As-built deliverables.
  • Configure and maintain upto date configuration change log. The change log shall be maintained in the format of Thales-defined Software Access Servers.
  • Act as Associate Infrastructure Architect and define Network Architectural work package addressing end-to-end solution for Data center Design and Implementations.
  • Lead Troubleshooting activities of Data Center Network, ranging from Switching, Routing, Security Network Troubleshooting, and VOIP troubleshooting.
  • Design/Implementations/Troubleshooting/Commissioning activities.
  • Possess industry-standard Experience in the Design & Implementation of Data Center Networks with a capacity of Level-02 and above.
  • Shall possess strong practical hands-on analytical, performance, and troubleshooting skills in building an enterprise-class Datacenter up to a level demonstrated by CCIS in R & S in non-simulated aspects.

Qualification, Certification & Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Electrical / Electronic / Computer / Engineering

Preferred Skills:

  • Independent Data Center Network Design, Implementations, Commission.
  • Advanced Cisco ASR Router Configuration
  • Interface Configuration: Configuring Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and 10-Gigabit interfaces on ASR routers.
  • Using subinterfaces for VLAN trunking, configuring IP addressing, and enabling routing protocols on specific interfaces.
  • High-Availability Configuration: Setting up Redundant Power Systems (RPS), and Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP), and Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) for router redundancy. Implementing Cisco Fast Reroute (FRR) for quick recovery from link failures.
  • Mastering configuration for large-scale deployments and inter-domain routing
  • Quality of Service (QoS)
  • Traffic Shaping and Policing: Configuring QoS policies to guarantee bandwidth, prioritize traffic, and manage latency across multiple interfaces.
  • High Availability and Redundancy in Carrier Networks
  • Virtual Switching System (VSS): Configuring VSS for higher availability and redundancy by combining multiple routers into a single virtual device.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain change log mgmt. offline and online.
  • Prepare and present with a translated, clear deliverable to Mgmt. Demonstrating the Design, Implementation, Troubleshooting, Commissioning, and Handover activities.
  • Evaluate Network design; provide substantial deliverables in the format of optimizing the network. Performance-wise and economic wise.
  • SPOC in Network Design and Implementation activities.
  • Do a periodic reporting about the design structure, implementations, and Commissioning activities.
  • Raise proper alarms to the appropriate stakeholders and have mechanisms to resolve technical and associated commercial issues.
  • Act as a tier III Network specialist in interfacing different systems and be able to spontaneously resolve the issues at level 03.
  • The individual shall possess sound technical customized, technical knowledge related to the project and shall be accountable for any information communication with the stakeholders.
  • Responsible for a proper, standard handover with a clear set of deliverables identified and familiarized to the superiors and stakeholders.
