Job Description:

Department: Procurement / Supply Chain / Stores

  • Reports to: Purchase Manager / Inventory Supervisor
  • Location: [Karachi]

The Assistant for Purchase & Inventory is responsible for supporting the procurement process and managing inventory control activities. This role involves assisting with purchasing supplies, maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring materials are available to meet organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Purchase Assistance:

  • Assist in sourcing and selecting suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Request and review quotations from vendors.
  • Prepare purchase orders and track their status.
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.

2. Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain minimum stock levels.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and physical inventory counts.
  • Record stock entries and issues in inventory management systems.
  • Assist in managing incoming and outgoing inventory.
  • Ensure inventory is stored properly to avoid damage or loss.

3. Coordination and Reporting:

  • Liaise with internal departments to identify purchasing needs.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory and purchase reports.
  • Support in resolving any discrepancies related to stock or orders.
  • Help implement best practices for procurement and inventory control.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory and purchasing software (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other office software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
